Reliable treatment for me and my family over the years. Polite, accurate, skilled, and with increasingly advanced technology.
This is for the wonderful front desk help that unfortunately is found at far too many doctor's offices. Called to ask for an appointment to see Dr. Marl that I chose as my primary care physician over a year ago (I told the lovely receptionist this) and she in the standard tone of the disinterested said she would see if the doctor was taking any new patients and would call me back. Now I know you will be shocked at this... I never received a return call!!! Customer service in the medical field is at an all time low. It's not just the medical profession. It does seem it is more concentrated in the medical field however as this in not my first experience like this and have heard this from many others. Would call to complain if it would do any good. It won't.
In the ER there are some phyisicans that have absolutely amazing bedside manner, and some that are basically just there for the paycheck and really don't care about the patients. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and I often have to go in when I partially or fully dislocate random joints, without having actually done something to cause it. There is one doctor that won't even touch me yo examine me and says I'm OK, I just need to let it pass, and then gives some lame story about how they have gone through something similar and that its no big deal. I'm sorry, a broken foot, a broken ankle (injured a year apart after falling, once was while hiking on slightly uneven ground) and coughing so hard I had 5 nondisplaced rib fractures, set home being told to take an OTC cough syrup. Within 48 hours I was back because I had just been coughing nonstop which caused me to have an additional 5 more DISPLACED rib fractures. And the one PCP said I didn't need any pain meds just a few days during my follow up (ER only gave me a few pain pills for at home
Took my 8 month old daughter to Urgent Care here and the nurse had smelled like she just smoked a pack of cigarettes then tried covering it with perfume! She had me put my daughter on a scale fully clothed and took her height measurements with her sitting half way up on the angled bed--nothing was accurate in the least bit. Then, the doctor comes in and doesnt even touch my daughter to examine her. He didn't wear gloves when i asked him to please check her eyes, nose and throat. Mind you- I brought her in for pink eye, it was severely swollen and oozing. When I asked him to check her other ear after looking in one, he said well this one is red so it tells me all I need to know but sure i will look. WHAT!? Are you kidding!? What happened to a FULL EXAMINATION? Sorry, id like to know if my daughter has a double ear infection or just one side so when i follow up with her pediatrician, I can tell him the "facts" but i would absolutely never recommend this hospital. Horrible bed side manner and staff. Only thing they have going for them and im not convinced it is a good thing, is the quickness of being seen. I have a feeling it is due to the lack of clientele with the horrible staff and experience. I also have to add this is my first review i have ever written. I won't let this one be passed up.
I've seen the reviews, but this is my own. Going to HGB can be hit or miss. I've had really great experiences and HORRIBLE ones. If you are looking for a primary care provider, I suggest insisting on having an "interview" before you have your new patient appointment. There are some doctors that will challenge you about your own life experiences and even if you've been diagnosed by another physician (specialist) and will do exam/tests that completely do not follow the diagnostic criteria. They will then call you a liar and change stuff in your chart that can have some serious impacts on future care.
We've had plenty of opportunities to visit the urgent care/ER in recent years, and we've consistently found the staff to be pleasant, kind, and on the ball. They also have great community spirit and involvement, and that is going above and beyond.
