Seems like the washers don't spin out very well, the dryers take more time than I expect, then there are the super negative signs posted all over the place... I tried this laundry 3 times, before giving up on it because it has a good location for me.
Had she allowed me to walk into the room, she would have learned it was absolutely OK to shut the doors in that room and also the single interior door that separates the "front" room from the rest of the laundry. This has been done many times in the past, both by customers and myself in an attempt to keep children from wandering away from their parents. I have dealt with thousands of customers and students over my seven years working for A&P Food Stores and my 29 years as a high school Business teacher. I believe it is best to have a civil conversation about an alleged wrong and see if there is an answer to the problem. In this case one party chose to leave immediately, without any conversation.
I went there for the first time tonight because my washer is on the fritz. Gary, the man who runs the place, was very polite and helpful. The place was clean, smoke-free, and the machines all seemed to be in good repair. I would highly recommend this laundromat to others.
Always a clean place to do your lawndry! Gary is a great person and have known him for some time, some people get mad at him. But they break the rules no car trash in his waste baskets. Be responsible and get your lawndry done on time times are posted open and closing times, people get mad when he tells them like it is. I will continue to go here no drama or bad eggs here lol.
This is in response to a review written by Chris A. Baker of the Charlotte area. I am the owner of the Laundromat that his wife visited in either the Spring or Summer of 2013. This laundry was started in 1947 and I have been the owner for the past 45 years. Over this period of time it has been expanded a couple of times and consequently it contains four separate rooms with seven exterior doors leading to the exterior of the building. It has 45 washers, 23 dryers, 3 extractors, 3 bill changers and an assortment of vending machines. It is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. On the day in question I opened the laundry and since it was in warm weather, also opened the exterior doors and windows. This is customary in warm weather to provide ventilation to a warm area and easy customer access. On that day I had gone to the coffee shop on my bicycle. When I arrived back the main entrance door was closed and I opened it and brought my bicycle in and promptly fastened the door back open. I did not see any customer in that area and proceeded to the next area where I opened that door. At that point in time a lady yelled at me from the "front" adjoining room that she wanted to have the doors closed as she had a child with her. She was evidently upset that I had re-opened doors she had shut. She immediately picked up a basket of clothes from the "front" room and went to her car. There was no further conversation as she had left the building.
Not allowed to get quaters unless I'm doing laundry there. Go to QD instead. Will never do laundry there again.
